This talk will explore how we can imagine making tea that is unique to our bioregion by taking a broad look at the history of tea production and considering how it intersects with the specific opportunities and challenges presented by our environment and economy.

    Gavin McFarlane, Minto Island Tea Co.

    Gavin McFarlane runs the tea program at Minto Island Tea Co. in Salem, OR. After spending 3 years studying tea farming and production in Shizuoka, Japan, he returned to Oregon in 2020 and has since worked to spread and develop tea cultivation in the Pacific Northwest.
