This presentation will deconstruct what makes a great scone. Marisa will be covering the difference between vegan and gluten-free varieties, as well American and British styles. Attendees will leave with a greater appreciation for this wonderful and often misunderstood pastry, as well as tips for how to make a delicious version at home. We will be serving Orange & Blossom's beloved vegan scones to all attendees.

Marisa Kroes - Orange & Blossom Patisserie
Marisa Kroes is the chef and owner of Orange & Blossom Patisserie, a seasonal plant-based bakery in NE Portland. She is a graduate of the Le Cordon Bleu California Culinary Academy's Baking & Pastry Arts program in San Francisco. She spent many years running high-end restaurang pastry programs in California and Colorado with a focus on seasonal & ingredient-driven baking. In 2020, she founded the patisserie to share beautiful and unique pastries and desserts made with organic ingredients from local farms and mills. In 2024 Orange & Blossom won the Best Vegan Bakery In America Award from Veg News, the largest vegan publication in the U.S .
