This introductory Puerh class will cover all things to start you out on your Puerh journey!

All this and more will be explored as we share a few teas over the course of the class and learn how to brew both types, Sheng and Shou puerh. We’ll learn what makes them different and how to infuse them properly to get not only the most yield from your tea but the best flavor and expression possible.

Steve Odell’s experience in tea culture is rooted in over 20 years of professional study focused on Chinese gong fu tea as the cultivation of mindful lifestyle practices. For 15 of those years, he has traveled directly to China, living with and learning directly from multi-generational tea-producing families.
Steve values what he calls “full-spectrum tea” — honoring every hand in the process of tea trade, from the plant to the teapot. From these relationships, he has cultivated deep family-style connections with farmers and producers, sourcing exclusively small-batch teas through his company, Rabbit’s Moon Tea.In 2015 he founded Enthea Teahouse in Portland, OR as a hub dedicated to building tea culture through experience — Enthea, in Latin, means “illumination through tea” and features collaborations with tea artisans across the Pacific Northwest.
Steve’s teaching bridges traditional gongfu tea culture with contemporary communities around the world, inviting people into deeper connection together through meaningful moments shared.
