10:00 - 11:00 Masumi Timson

Masumi Timson, an acclaimed Koto musician based in Oregon. holds a Master's degree (師範 – Shihan) in Koto from the Seiha Conservatory of Japanese Traditional Music. She plays both classical and contemporary Koto music, and sings Japanese classical songs with koto and shamisen accompaniment.

12:00 - 1:00 Amy and Josh from Apa Kabar

Amy and Joshua of the Apa Kabar teahouse are offering a sound experience. Joshua Limanjaya Lim is an electronic music artist who uses modular and hardware synthesizers to create ambient / lofi beats and textures.

2:00 - 3:00 Chauncey Canfield

Chauncey Canfield is a Portland-based musician and composer who began his musical journey with the piano at a young age. During the COVID lockdown, he discovered the expressive and portable nature of the folk accordion, quickly taught himself to play and has passionately embraced the instrument ever since. He plays a dizzying array of both traditional and highly unconventional repertoire by ear and performs most nights around Portland, or on one of his five YouTube channels.

3:30 - 4:30 Xianhong Chao and Teacher Lee

The Nanfang Music Club is a small group of musicians striving to increase public awareness on southern Chinese folk music. Nanfang has been active in the Portland community for the last decade, performing at various public festivals and community events, including the Chinese New Year Cultural Fair at Lloyd Center and Lan Su Chinese Garden. Members of this music club include Wenhui Lee, who plays the gaohu (Chinese fiddle), and Xianhong Chao, who plays the yangqin (Chinese dulcimer).
