This class will provide an opportunity to learn about matcha. We will learn about the history of matcha in Japan and what makes it unique. The students will practice preparing and whisking bowls of matcha. The class will try matcha from different vendors and from different quality levels to gain an understanding of what their preferences are.

    I  have studied Japanese Tea Ceremony for 13 years as well as enjoying brewed teas from around the world. I regularly participate in Demonstrations at the Portland Japanese Garden and elsewhere. I taught this class last year and I am excited to teach it again.
