Step into the British Tea Tent and discover how tea transforms into story, art, and adventure. Join co-authors Devorah Ungerleider and Karmel Ungerleider-Abrams as they bring their book The Queen’s Cup: A Zestys Tea Adventure to life through the lens of childlike wonder.

 

Blending English tea traditions with imaginative storytelling, this interactive workshop invites participants to experience tea in a fresh, playful way. Through guided storytelling and a hands-on art activity, you’ll learn how to create meaningful, creative tea moments that inspire curiosity and connection for the next generation. Reimagine tea time—where every cup holds a story waiting to be told.

  • Devorah Ungerleider is a Southern California–based artist, entrepreneur, and co-creator of The Zestys’ Tea Adventures. She dreams up story concepts and creates illustrations that bring each tea-filled adventure to life with warmth, color, and whimsy. Through her work, these stories are designed to spark imagination and meaningful family moments.

    Alongside her sister Karmel, Devorah co-founded Causmic Brands Studio, a heart-forward creative studio focused on thoughtful storytelling, design, and immersive experiences. The studio’s work spans concept development, fine art, branding, and experiential projects rooted in care for people and the planet.

    A devoted parent and passionate home cook, Devorah believes cooking is one of life’s most essential skills—one that connects cultures, preserves tradition, and creates sacred space for families to gather. For her, the kitchen is where stories are shared, curiosity is nurtured, and lasting bonds are formed. Through The Zestys, she invites families to slow down, cook together, and rediscover the joy, meaning, and connection found in everyday rituals around the table.

    Karmel Ungerleider-Abrams is a Portland-based writer, educator, and co-creator of The Zestys’ Tea Adventures. She brings the stories’ ideas to life, helping shape each adventure into engaging narratives that teach creativity, curiosity, and connection while inspiring families to explore culture, food, and play together.

    Alongside her sister Devorah, Karmel co-founded Causmic Brands Studio, a heart-forward creative studio dedicated to meaningful, intentional design. The studio’s work—from concept and storytelling to branding and immersive experiences—focuses on projects that spark joy, reflection, and human connection while caring for people and the planet.

    A devoted parent, tea enthusiast and Yin yoga instructor, Karmel believes in nurturing children through hands-on learning, especially cooking and cultural exploration, to cultivate curiosity, confidence, and creativity. Through The Zestys, she invites families to slow down, savor meaningful moments, and celebrate learning, play, and discovery in every story, craft, and tea-filled adventure.
