2:30 - 3:15 British Tea Tent, Radical Hospitality: A Steeped Revolution (Jeni Dodd)
What do a teacup and the right to vote have in common? More than you think. Join Jeni Dodd, New York City attorney and founder of Jeni Dodd Tea, as she tells the story of how the world’s most civilized beverage became one of history’s most powerful tools of resistance. From suffragette tearooms in Victorian London to fundraising tea parties in 1890s Boston, Jeni traces how women turned the ritual of the cup into a revolution at the polls. Drawing on two decades of advocacy for the disenfranchised, she asks what that history still has to teach us. Because some fights, it turns out, never really end. Come for the history, stay for the tea.
