This immersive workshop introduces Kumaon, a new tea origin in the Indian Himalayas, through a guided tasting, original field footage, and music composed specifically for this event. Participants will taste three teas from the factory’s first production season — Kumaon First Flush (award-winning), Tiger Black, and Kumaon White — while experiencing the landscape and people behind them.

  • Raj Vable is the founder of Young Mountain Tea and has been confounded by the tea leaf since his first transcendental encounter with white tea. He started the company to create sustainable livelihoods for Himalayan farmers and helped launch India’s first farmer-owned specialty tea factory in 2025.

His work, supported by the Fulbright Program, USAID, Acumen, and the Rockefeller Foundation, focuses on building sustainable food systems that bring joy to all involved.
