Herbal tisanes are far more than a caffeine-free alternative to tea — they are precisely blended plant medicines with deep roots in herbalism, nutrition science, and whole-body wellness. In this session and guided tasting, Registered Dietitian and co-founder of House Nine wellness & tea; Miho Hatanaka will walk attendees through the process of intentional tisane blending: from understanding the key herb categories (adaptogens, nervines, lymphatics) to crafting a cohesive blend for targeted healing properties.
Using six of House Nine's signature house-blended tisanes as teaching vehicles, Miho will show how therapeutic intent, flavor balance, and botanical synergy come together in a single cup.

Miho Hatanaka, RD, is a Registered Dietitian and founder of House Nine Wellness & Tea in Portland, Oregon. Born and raised in Japan, tea has been central to her life since childhood. In 2020, she co-founded House Nine wellness & tea, a space for self care offering massage therapy and wellness workshops. Intentionally weaving a hand-blended medicinal tea into the space as an expression of her belief that plant medicine as part of the holistic care.
