What happens when you brew the same tea in different vessels?

In this hands-on tasting experiment, we'll explore how the material and shape of tewaware can subtly and sometimes, surprisingly, change your experience of tea. We'll talk abut how each material influences aroma, texture, body, and flavor (such as glass, ceramic, and different porous clays). We'll do a side-by-side tasting experiment with ceramic and Yixing clay.

We’ll also briefly discuss the role of shape and form, comparing different gaiwans and cups to see how the vessel can transform the way you perceive what’s in your cup.

Come curious, taste critically, and discover why the same tea can tell a different story depending on what you brew and drink it from.
